It chimes the quarter on two bells and strikes the hours on a third bell, mounted at the bottom of the backplate. It has a dead beat escapement with the anchor spanning half the great wheel, a gridiron pendulum, centre sweep seconds and date hands and a remontoire which rewinds the driving weight
